This story goes back a LONG way! Dr. Luc of The Movement Co. and Rob and Julia from Missing Link Adventure Tours and Santosha Farm all grew up in Huntsville, Ontario.  Back in the late 90s, Rob worked at the local bike shop and helped coordinate the Tuesday Night Rides, a weekly romp on the mountain bike trails surrounding the town.  Luc's Mom, Elizabeth, brought her fairly young son along to the ride - and we were all a bit concerned he might be too young for the group's pace. Fast forward not very long, and Luc was at or off the front of the group.

What followed steady progress from winning the weekly race series and travelling to O-Cups and eventually becoming Provincial Champion. Very early on, Luc showed an interest in bike fit as part of improving on bike performance and reducing risk of injury (in the early days, he might have been more focused on the performance part :-). In a town with a healthy community of mountain bikers, likely the only person who owned an actual book on bike fit was a Luc, a kid in high-school.

School in Ottawa, becoming part of the community that supported Mike Woods in transitioning from running to becoming a world class professional cyclist.  Attending multiple World and Olympic cycling events as part of the medical team, Rob has had the pleasure of watching that young kid on a group ride go pretty far with this bike thing!  Rob has even had a bike fit with Dr. Luc himself!

Winding paths cross again!

Rob and Julia moved from Ottawa back to just north of the Huntsville area in 2012.  The plan was to start a farm and open a cycling focused retreat that incorporates great farm-to-table meals with the incredible riding the region has to offer.  The farm has been pumping out organic produce to the local community since 2012, it took a few more years, to build Missing Link Adventure Tours, but in 2023, we opened our new retreat center and began welcoming cyclists and other recreation focused guests.

In 2025, we won the Ontario By Bike Best Cycling Friendly Business Award for the Muskoka and Parry Sound regions (RTO 12).

As you may know, while we were working on creating Santosha Farm and Missing Link Adventure Tours, Dr. Luc was adding Dr. to his name and opening The Movement Co. in Ottawa.

The next chapter in this story is about bringing our communities together. It's about movement and exploring!
