Send yourself to Gravel Camp in 2026!
We are very excited to announce the return of our Gravel Camp series for 2026, designed for riders looking to up their gravel riding game! Gravel Camp will provide participants with hands on experience opportunities to learn from experienced racers and guest facilitators, all from our farm-stay cycling retreat in the Almaguin Highlands.
Up your game, build community and confidence for your next big goal -- go to gravel camp this summer!
Featuring Julie Toole and Adam Hill as your returning 'camp counsellors':
Two separate retreat weekends, each featuring an incredible facilitator! We wanted to create an opportunity for Julie and Adam to share what they have learned from years of riding and training and countless endurance race events. Accelerate your progression to feeling more confident taking on longer gravel rides and preparing for and executing at events.
Each weekend will provide multiple on-bike sessions (3 rides min) and ample opportunity for Julie and Adam to share their knowledge; covering training, race fuel & strategy, gear and maintenance. In 2025, many participants were accomplished cyclists (road, triathlon) and athletes from other endurance sports looking to improve their confidence in the gravel context.
Gravel Camp Updates for 2026:
- Both Julie (July 10-12) and Adam (August 7-9) are returning for their own unique weekends.
- Lowell from the SportLab will join us on both weekends for a nutrition and recovery information session Friday evening.
- Mel from Stoked MTB will host a bike handling component on Friday morning for Julie's weekend.
- Adam's weekend follows the same ride plan structure with opportunity for longer rides and additional rides (base plan is one a day - participants can sneak in additional bike time to suite their preference)
- Both weekends include relaxing time - we've heard from participants that they love the balance of food, riding, knowledge sharing and hanging out on the porch!
As always, we provide our farm-inspired meals - perfect for the active guest. We accommodate a range of dietary preferences.

July 10-12th, 2026 - Women's Weekend - Updated for 2026!
- Based on feedback from participants and to provide a range of experience options, we have enhanced 'Julie's Weekend' with additional facilitators
- Mel from Stoked MTB will host a skills session on Friday morning! Mel brings her experience helping riders develop MTB trails skills to the gravel realm.
- Lowell from The SportLab will host a nutrition and recovery session on Friday evening, providing information on "on-bike" and "off-bike" nutrition, incorporating analysis of the meals provided over the weekend and information on post-ride recovery options.
- Saturday evening includes a bike maintenance information session
- We aim to bring in facilitators that have knowledge to share (not products to sell) which participants can consider and assess as part of their weekend. We follow a learn, try, adjust and apply approach over a "thou shalt!" approach and balance the mix of structured learning, riding and hang-out time over the course of the weekend.

- Different Camps, different facilitators and different approaches. 'Adam's Weekend' has a bit less structure and allows for more ride time (planned rides each day - participants can add additional riding, just be back in time for dinner!)

Facilitator Bios
A note from Rob at Missing Link Adventure Tours - I reached out to Julie and Adam shortly after the 8 hour Hurtin In Haliburton event in 2024, where they had both claimed their 4th consecutive titles, putting in 216km and 243km efforts respectively! Based on their experience and consistent performance at this race alone, I would be happy to support them in being a facilitator for an Endurance Gravel Camp, however, their experience goes WELL beyond this event. Both are working professionals balancing family and careers with their training and racing schedules. Both have competed at numerous endurance events, across disciplines and, luckily for us, both are excited to share their knowledge and experience with you!
We are looking forward to fostering knowledge sharing between local (Ontario) riders, on our local roads and sharing food from our farm with guests.
Julie Toole
Julie is the very proud mother to two teenage girls and a registered midwife working in health policy and bioethics, she also really enjoys an intense bike racing hobby :). Julie has long loved bikes, adventure and is regularly wowed by the marvels of nature around her. While Julie calls the trails of the Don Valley and the Leslie Spit in Toronto home, she loves to explore remote gravel in new areas pushing her limits for long days in the saddle. Julie loves playing the bike racing game (you’ll most often see her smiling in race photos!) and learning and experimenting in the sport. She absolutely loves helping other women and girls discover the joys of gravel riding and racing and gaining confidence through sport.
