It has been a long ride, but our new cycling retreat accommodation centre, The LINNK, is now open!

Our vision for the perfect cycling retreat in the Almaguin Highlands.

It’s been a learning experience, and one that, we'll admit, took much longer than anticipated!  The last few years have been an interesting time to take on this type of project.

We are so happy to finally be opening!

Why The LINNK?

As you may know, we created Missing Link Adventure Tours to provide access to the great recreational opportunities in the Almaguin Highlands. Our motto is Prepare, Challenge, Succeed, Celebrate! which is the path we follow when designing retreats for guest.  A key ingredient we think is important in the recipe of success is the nutrition to fuel the adventure.  This is where Sanotsha Farm, our co-located organic veggie farm, and Missing Link Adventure Tours 'link-up', providing high-quality meal options for a range of dietary preferences.  Being on a rural farm, the missing piece for us was the space and facilities to welcome guests and to base retreat experiences from -- our solution was to build The LINNK.

Your stay...

The LINNK can be booked directly as a rural retreat with family and friends, or as part of a customized retreat package that includes an itinerary and optional meal plan. All guests have access to our private on-site trails and can supplement their stay with in-season veggies through Santosha Farm.

The LINNK features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on the upper level of the building. Two of the bedrooms each have a double/single bunk and a single/single bunk and sleep five. These are not your regular bunk beds…built in Ontario using FSC basswood from an Ontario mill, they are made to hold adults and are very sturdy! The third bedroom has a queen sized bed. Each of the washrooms has a sink, shower and toilet. The main floor has an open concept kitchen, dining and living room.

When you stay with us during warmer weather, you are likely going to want to spend most of your time in the 40' screened-in porch…it’s lovely on hot, humid days, whether you are enjoying your meals on the large picnic table or lounging in the locally made Muskoka chairs.

Extras in the kitchen

At the LINNK, we provide complimentary tea and fair trade & organic coffee and cooking staples (salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar). We also have a small selection of books and board games, perfect for days when you just want to be quiet! We trust you will find it well equipped for your stay.

Sustainable Focus

We have worked to maintain the smallest environmental footprint we could while building within the confines of the commercial building code. The construction industry produces an immense amount of waste, and we didn’t want to be part of that. When we purchased new items, we tried to find the most eco-friendly option we could, including the siding, windows, beds, linens, towels, flooring, shower backing and all the paints and finishes. You won’t find many matching dishes in the kitchen! We have good quality dishes, pots, pans and bakeware that have been passed along, mainly from Julia’s grandparents. We re-purposed tables and furniture passed along to us. The result is a clean, open and comfortable space that we hope you will feel right at home in!

It’s a new year and a new beginning! We are so excited to see what the year brings and to welcome guests to our farm!
